I have no words.
When I was a musical missio...Wow. I have no words.

When I was a musical missionary, we ministered in Rwanda. It was in 1999, so the genocide was still fresh in the minds and hearts of the people. It was difficult ministry there. I remember riding down the street and seeing bullet riddled houses from the genocide. They were randomly spaced...the houses were shot at based on who lived there, i.e. what tribe. It was as if the people were still in some sort of daze. And there was still an underlying tension in the air, like, a lingering of something in the atmosphere. I dont think we encountered anyone who had not been touched in some way by what happened.

Rwanda is also where my husband and I got unofficially engaged. There was a strict no-dating while in active ministry rule with the organization, and yet it was clear to our hearts that God was bringing us together in marriage. So we were engaged but couldn't do anything about it until the tour was over several weeks later.Mining for Diamondshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14926572748712180041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4483475903880351456.post-68188402346326731192011-04-09T13:56:21.118-04:002011-04-09T13:56:21.118-04:00So hard to read. I did pray today for these children. I'm celebrating my son's 10th birthday today while some Mother's are remebering their children's death. I can't even imagine the pain. And to add such brutality takes it to a whole new level of horror. I pray today for the people you met that still live the horrors of that time so long ago but what probably remains fresh in thier minds. May the peace of God fill their hearts and minds.Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08751406235805767248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4483475903880351456.post-35027343660491046002011-04-08T22:45:00.864-04:002011-04-08T22:45:00.864-04:00wow- it's truly terrible what humans are capab...wow- it's truly terrible what humans are capable of doing. thanks for sharing this...Counselor Musingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06842234461571656875noreply@blogger.com
